Meet the Interns!
Mary Ann Albright
"Oregon Literacy was a great experience. The environment is very casual, warm, friendly, and often wacky, but everyone is always working hard while enjoying what he or she is doing. My two projects frustrated me at first because there were some unforeseen obstacles, but everything came together very well. Meg, Jim, and the other interns and volunteers are great!"

"The internship was a great experience. I gained knowledge and experience that you can't learn from the classroom and had
a lot of fun at the same time. It was great getting to work with other interns. We were able to share thoughts, ideas, and get help from each other."

"Interning at OLI was an awesome experience! I was a special events intern, and I got to work on some very cool projects for International Literacy Day! Whether it was the 5K walk or the donation canister project, everyone was so supportive of the events I chose and always willing to help. That gave me a lot of confidence, and got me really pumped up for my projects. People in Portland, inside and outside of the office, are so cool! I would never have been able to pull off my events without the community's support. I'm going to miss everyone so much! Thanks to Meg, Jim, and all of the interns and volunteers, for their endless kindness."

"Oregon Literacy was a great place to work because even though it's a busy place, there is relaxed atmosphere that made me look forward to going to work there. I really enjoyed the people that I worked with at OLI."

"My internship at Oregon Literacy provided me with invaluable working experience within the field of my major and granted me the opportunity to become part of a highly innovative, ambitious, and dedicated team. At Oregon Literacy, everyone's ideas, input, and suggestions are valued and encouraged--this is a friendly team environment where everyone's efforts receive recognition, and all individuals possess the opportunity to play a role in the projects that will best put their skills to use and further develop their talents. I enjoyed my internship so much that I will be staying on as a volunteer while I complete my degree!"
