An Invitation to new Board Members:
Dear Prospective Board Member,
Thank you for considering joining the board of Oregon Literacy, Inc. Of the many options to contribute your time and talent, literacy is a compelling choice for many reasons. Perhaps most importantly, improving literacy skills changes lives by enabling more options, greater self-sufficiency, and improved self-esteem. Furthermore, all of society benefits when adult learners gain the skills needed to realize their potential.
Few other investments have such far-reaching and lasting impact. Oregon Literacy, Inc. has dedicated itself to Advancing Literacy Through Access, Advocacy & Alliances. As we work toward fulfilling our mission, we support and leverage the efforts of thousands of volunteers.
Over the past several years we have made significant progress in positioning the organization for success. Our efforts are reflected in a clear mission statement, a stronger financial position, a clear operating structure, and a dedicated management team.
Literacy in Oregon is a worthy cause of which much remains to be addressed and completed. I invite you to make a commitment that can make a difference.
