Have you "Checked Into Literacy"?

If you are a Verizon residential telephone customer, you can support literacy programs in your area with a $1 monthly donation to Verizon Reads. Verizon Reads will redistribute the contributions to local and state-wide literacy organizations in the areas where the funds are raised. To sign up, you can check off the box on the first page of your telephone bill or call your local business office (number found on the first page of your bill). A $1 donation will be added to your monthly charge. Does this make a difference? Absolutely! Oregon Literacy recently received a grant from Verizon to help develop marketing strategies for all adult literacy programs in Oregon -- this project is entirely funded through "Check Into Literacy".
