The Literacy Council for Josephine County is an all-volunteer, non-profit community service organization founded in 1986. The Literacy Council is a public charity and donations are tax exempt under section 501(3)(c). We are affiliated with United Way, Rogue Community College, and Oregon Literacy, Inc. Our office is at Hamilton House, Coalition for Kids Family Resource Center, and it serves as classrooms and offers a library of learning materials.
The Literacy Council of Josephine County welcomes adult students who want to learn basic reading, spelling, writing and math, and English as a second language. We are also always looking for volunteer tutors and others interested in lending a hand. To learn more about our programs, please click on the links above.
